With beach photography it still seems to be most dramatic during the sweet hours, an hour before sunrise and an hour after sunset.
About a half hour after sunset the colors began to intensify. From that point forward its just a matter of using you knowledge to select a composition that works. Using rule of thirds, a lower horizon is selected and a tree as a boarder on the left to help keep the eye in the frame.
Another evening, we spotted a fisherman with a cast net, down the beach. Selecting a long lens for the Sony a6000, I walked as quickly a possible along the mixed sand gravel shore, hoping I would arrive within range before his next cast. Sometimes it takes a watching to guage when the net will be let go during the cast. On this image I got lucky. Turned out this was his last cast.
