This image stopped me in my track. Back at the computer I still liked it.
Since we were walking our dog and like to keep moving, these glimpses of the moment provide a nice reference.
As color came later than usual this year, and I thought these reds were striking with the reflections, I had to include this Ikonic image of Lake Junaluska and historic hotel.

This image was originally larger , see below. I often make an image of the moment knowing that I will rework it in post production to suit the purpose. Also, I did not wish to interrupt the ladies space of quiet.

First off, I didn’t need all the sky, nor the heavy branch at the left. I could have kept more of the building; however, keeping in mind the rule of thirds, I cropped all the way down so the gingerbread of the building was on the upper thirds line and the person was in the bottom right quadrant. Jay Maisel would say do not include anything in the image not required to tell the story or make the statement. I agree.
